Job Description

Schulte Staffing Solutions is currently seeking an experienced CNC Machinist Programmer for a growing customer in Georgetown, MA. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, offering an excellent path for professional growth and development.

Job Summary
 Machine operators produce a variety of precision metal parts primarily from Aluminum, Steel, Brass, and Copper, using computer numerically-controlled (CNC) machine tools such as Vertical and Horizontal Milling Machines as well as Conventional, Multi-Op and Swiss Style Lathes. Machine programmers are additionally required to make programs as needed with Mastercam to complete work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review blueprints and/or written specifications for a job
  • Set up machines for other operators as needed
  • Set-up controls and make the cuts to make machined parts
  • Understand and monitor the feed rate and speed of machine
  • Ensure machine is working properly through standard preventative maintenance procedures and to make certain machine is properly feeding, cutting, cooling and lubricating part while in operation
  • Utilize specialized inspection tools to check tolerances
  • Understand and maintain QC procedures
  • Use Mastercam to make CNC programs
  • Write programs and apply machine tool math
  • Work within a visual Lean Manufacturing Environment/System; maintain as clean and safe work environment
  • Understand and follow all ISO procedures
  • Must follow procedures and execute tasks assigned by Leadership
  • Must comply with ALL Company code of conduct, safety and procedural rules and regulations

Required Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma or GED Preferred
  • Tasks require standing and walking 100% of the time; lifting, reaching, and repetitive motion
  • Tasks require use of hand tools and power tools
  • Tasks require clear close vision for inspection of parts
  • Tasks require lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must work in a safe and reliable manner.
  • Must be able to work as a team player

Physical and Environmental Conditions
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend and kneel without difficulty
  • Ability to repeatedly lift/pull/push 50lbs
  • Exposure to loud noises
  • Working in the presence of fork trucks and other manufacturing machinery
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently
