Position Overview
The CNC Lathe Operator plays a key role in producing high-precision components by setting up and operating CNC lathe machines. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and a strong understanding of machining processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines based on job specifications and blueprints
- Load raw materials and monitor machine operations
- Perform routine maintenance and keep equipment in optimal condition
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Adjust machine settings and tooling to maintain quality and efficiency
- Document production data and report any issues
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot and improve processes
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing setting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining instructions
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality
Preferred:
- CNC certification or technical training
- Experience with CNC programming and setup
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
