Job Description
Schulte Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Machinist to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. Our client is located in Woburn, MA.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in at least one machining technology, with a strong emphasis on milling operations.
Pay $30.00/hr (DOE)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Machine Operation

Load raw materials into machines and unload finished machined parts

Deburr parts as necessary to ensure safety and inspection readiness

Perform daily housekeeping around assigned machines

Complete daily maintenance checks
-
Adjust tool offsets and machine offsets (fixture offsets, cutter compensation, etc.)
-
Install and align holding fixtures and accessories according to setup instructions (green folder) for non-complex operations
-
Align, secure, and install cutting tools per tool sheet specifications
-
Retrieve CNC programs, verify correct revision levels, and download to machines
-
Establish machining offsets (G54, etc.)

Start and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions

Make necessary setup adjustments to produce parts within specification

Document results and obtain first-piece approval stamp

Multimachine setup experience is a plus

Recognize tool wear and make necessary offset adjustments
-
Identify and build tooling according to tool sheets
-
Establish tool heights
-
Verify correct tools per tool sheet and change tools as required
-
Read and interpret CNC programs line-by-line to follow tool paths
- Use precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges

Operate specialty inspection equipment (e.g., vision systems) as required
Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)

Load parts and operate CMM equipment to verify conformance to specifications
Quality Systems & Documentation

Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and quality plans

Complete quality documentation and enter required data into computer systems

Operate more than one machine simultaneously as required

Train other employees on equipment operation in areas of demonstrated competency

Identify machining issues and notify senior machinists, engineers, or supervisors when problems arise

Assist in diagnosing and resolving production or quality concerns
Qualifications

Experience operating and setting up CNC milling machines

Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, and machining processes

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CNC programs

Experience with manual inspection tools and CMM operation
-
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Ability to work independently and in a team environment
