Controls Engineer / Controls & Instrumentation Technician
Franklin, NH | Full-Time | $40–$42/hr (DOE)
Schulte Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer / Controls & Instrumentation Technician for a leading manufacturing client in Franklin, NH. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, ISO-certified aluminum extrusion company with a strong presence across New England. Position Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial control systems and instrumentation critical to the aluminum extrusion process. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of automated systems across the facility.
Key Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and automation control systems

Support preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance activities

Lead control system upgrades, integrations, and new installations

Calibrate and maintain instrumentation (temperature sensors, pressure transducers, flow meters, load cells)

Diagnose and resolve issues with PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and networked systems

Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve performance and reduce downtime

Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements

Maintain accurate documentation (control logic, wiring diagrams, system configurations)

Provide technical support during commissioning and root cause analysis
What We’re Looking For
-
Experience with industrial controls and automation systems
-
Working knowledge of PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text) and HMI interfaces
-
Experience with electrical systems ranging from 24VDC to 120–480VAC
-
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, EtherNet/IP, ProfiNet)

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
-
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms
-
Background in metal forming or extrusion processes
-
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or TPM principles
