Job Description
Our client in the Newburyport area is seeking full time Shipper/Packer for their manufacturing facility.
Working Hours: Monday- Friday from 6:00am-3:30pm
Compensation: $18.00-$20.00 p/h DOE
Position Description:
Operates equipment to finish, clean, and package washers and other small metal parts for shipment to customers. Works in a team environment to achieve daily production goals and targets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Load parts into tumblers for finishing and drying
- Run parts through cascade/separator to clean them prior to packaging
- Package parts for shipment
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move inventory
- Inspect parts for visual defects
- Set-up and operate automatic scales
- Inspect equipment for proper operation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
- Comply with quality management system requirements
Primary Objectives:
- Ensure separation is maintained between different parts and lots
- Ensure parts are cleaned and given a good finish
- Pack parts according to customer requirements
- Ensure work area is clean and organized and any problems with equipment are reported
- Safe operation of machines
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Willing to train on forklift, pallet jack, and hoist operation and safety
- Basic record-keeping and organization skills
- Box machine operation
- Basic math skills
- Able to lift 50lbs repetitively
