Finishing/Packaging Operator
Job Description
Schulte Staffing Solution is seeking an experienced and energetic Finishing/Packaging Operator for our client in Newburyport, MA. Our client is a leading manufacturing company. They manufacture millions of parts each week for industries such as automotive, medical and aerospace.
Position Description:
Operates equipment to finish, clean, and package washers and other small metal parts for shipment to customers. Works in a team environment to achieve daily production goals and targets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Load parts into tublers for finishing and drying
- Run parts through cascade/seperator to clean them prior to packaging
- Package parts for shipment
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move inventory
- Inspect parts for visual defects
- Set-up and operate automatic scales
- Inspect equipment for proper operation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
- Comply with quality management system requirements
Primary Objectives:
- Ensure separation is maintained between different parts and lots
- Ensure parts are cleaned and given a good finish
- Pack parts according to customer requirements
- Ensure work area is clean and organized and any problems with equipment are reported
- Safe operation of machines
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Forklift, pallet jack, and hoist operation and safety
- Basic record keeping and organization skills
- Box machine operation
- Basic math skills
- Able to lift 50lbs repetitively
Reports To:
- Logistics Coordinator
Environment:
- Production floor
- Hearing protection required
- Eye protection required
Hours of Operation & Pay Rate:
- 1st shift operation
- 8-10 hr days
- Occasional Saturday
- Starting rate $20.00/hr
