Mechanical Design Engineer Needed in Beverly, Ma - Direct Hire Opportunity - Exceptional Benefits! (80K)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00 pm

Pay rate: Up to $80,000

Summary/Objective
Candidates to possess an understanding of power transmission products and associated components. A proficiency in CAD design and detailing using SolidWorks is required. Hands on assembly, test, and automation experience are a plus. Ability to function in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in collaboration on multiple task with other departments is required.

Essential Functions  
  • Design electromechanical/mechanical products and create manufacturing drawings, using SolidWorks, to Customer and Company specifications.
  • Design assembly and test fixtures as required for manufacturing.
  • Create test and assembly procedures and reports in collaboration with other departments to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Work with purchasing and manufacturing to source vendors for component purchases and create bills of materials.
  • Written and verbal communication skills enabling a clear and accurate understanding when communicating with sales as well as directly with customers or vendors.
  • Manage multiple everyday engineering tasks effectively.
  • Work with relevant departments (i.e. Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Assembly, etc.) to evaluate Deficiency Reports and suggest actions. When necessary prepare Deviation or Change Requests for items requiring Customer approval.

Competencies
  • Mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate design creativity and pragmatic problem-solving skills with the ability to design for manufacturing ease and cost in mind.
  • SolidWorks knowledge required with an understanding of GD&T with an understanding of manufacturing and inspection capabilities and limitations.
  • Sound computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP, etc.).
  • Ability to generate accurate reports to clearly document and communicate findings.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation control practices.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical power transmission and motion control components and associated calculations.
  • Ability to work across teams and communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, and partners in a professional and cooperative manner.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in an accurate, timely, and organized fashion.
  • Willingness to work on and take on responsibility of various aspects of projects.
  • Understanding of and appreciation for the importance of customer satisfaction.
  • Hands on experience in assembly and or machining is a plus.
  • Ability to use calipers and micrometers. Familiarity with other inspection tools and methods and the ability to interpret inspection reports (CMM, FAIR, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with various types of automated machinery is a plus

Required Education and Experience
  • BS in Engineering is required. MS preferred.
  • 2-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Certification in SolidWorks a plus.
  • Certification in GD&T a plus.
