This position is Monday- Friday / 8:00am – 5:00pm

Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000 DOE

Summary/Objective
Are you passionate about mechatronics and skilled in providing top-notch support for electro-mechanical systems? Schulte Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Mechatronics Applications Engineer II for our client North of Boston. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, support customers with a range of mechatronics products, and contribute to internal product development and production processes.

Job Functions include:
  • Provide expert support to customers on mechatronics products including actuators, motors, encoders, sensors, and servo drives, offering advice, troubleshooting, and testing.
  • Support internal product development, production, and returned materials to ensure specifications are met or exceeded with the highest quality level.
  • Conduct electro-mechanical calculations, testing, and customer support for systems of varied complexity.
  • Support the development of products, components, specifications, and processes for complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Develop and document test equipment and procedures for electro-mechanical assemblies, performing analysis, troubleshooting, and testing at both component and systems levels.
  • Collaborate with vendors to analyze products for potential integration in new designs and to troubleshoot situations or advise on new features or specifications.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, effectively liaising with sales, customers, and vendors.
  • Interact with customers to understand product requirements, define scope, plans, and deliverables for assigned work.
  • Provide technical leadership, project management, and mentorship to fellow engineers.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and analyses, making recommendations to improve processes and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate MUST have
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment, including integration and testing of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with servo drive design, development, commissioning, and troubleshooting for motion control systems.
  • Proficiency with various servo drive brands such as Copley Controls, Elmo, Mitsubishi, Yaskawa, B&R, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Bosch Rexroth, or Panasonic is a plus.
  • Experience with absolute and incremental encoders and associated communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with brushless DC motors and electrical test equipment.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical assembly, including soldering and crimping, is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage projects with small teams of engineers, demonstrating excellent organization, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Experience with automated machinery, robotics, PC-based motion control software, networking protocols (such as EtherCAT and CANopen), and software tools like Simulink and MATLAB is desirable.
  • Programming skills in Python, LabVIEW, or similar languages are a plus.
  • Ability to travel to customers' sites when necessary and work beyond core business hours to meet project deadlines.
  • BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of related engineering experience.

Must be able to complete a pre-employment physical and 11-panel drug screen that includes THC.
