Job Description
Schulte Staffing is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization to identify a skilled Quality Technician. This is a direct hire opportunity offering excellent benefits and long-term career growth.
The Quality Technician is responsible for performing and documenting FAIs, receiving, in-process and final inspection to ensure product conforms to all applicable requirements.

Pay range $26.50 - $33.50/hr DOE

Essential Functions
- Applies knowledge of GD&T and Metrology principles to perform inspection to ensure products meet requirements.
- Resolve issues and answer questions from Operators as well as from Inspectors and Engineers.
- Train other inspectors and technicians.
- Participate in special projects related to tooling fixtures and gages.
- Identifies cost reduction projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Create CMM programs using part drawings or models and perform inspections as required.
- Assist with creation of instructions for using inspection tools and systems.
- Provide inspection support to all departments in the organization, perform part inspection and FAIs.
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
Competencies
- Knowledge of reading blueprints and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of mechanical inspection and proficiency in the use of manual & visual inspection equipment (calipers, gauges, micrometers, digital indicators, surface plates, optical comparators, microscopes, coordinate measuring machines, profilometers, hardness/durometer testers)
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English; strong data entry skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment and foster positive relationships across functional groups
- Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office)
- Understanding of travelers and work instructions
- Strong desire to learn and apply new skills
- Problem-solving ability with an organized and analytical approach
- Proven ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment and routinely uses shop floor tools and machinery.
Physical Demands
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work
- Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions, prints, and inspect machined parts
- Frequently required to sit, stand, move about the shop floor, talk, hear, bend, and reach
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to squat or kneel occasionally
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, hourly position, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Travel
Occasional (less than 5%)
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T and metrology programs (read and interpret)
- 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing mechanical inspection of precision parts
- 4+ years of experience with inspection equipment and tools
- Experience using CMM and Vision Systems
