Position Overview
The Quality Technician plays a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring product quality, maintaining compliance with standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position involves a mix of hands-on inspection work, data analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing with inspections including receiving, in-process, final inspection, dock audits, and first articles
- Read and interpret blueprints and utilize precision measurement equipment
- Train QA Technicians and support ongoing development of quality standards
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for customer complaints
- Monitor and analyze production and quality data to identify trends and issues
- Conduct capability studies and GR&R as needed
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and management to reduce defects and improve processes
- Manage customer return and complaint processes, ensuring timely resolution
- Act as liaison between the company and customers regarding quality concerns
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal quality systems
- Support Lean Six Sigma initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
- Assist with performance reviews, training plans, and departmental development
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Hands-on experience with inspection tools and measurement equipment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and methodologies
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality systems
- Experience with capability studies and GR&R
- Prior experience training or mentoring team members
- Strong communication and leadership skills
