Position Overview
The Electrical-Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for independently troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex production equipment in an aluminum extrusion environment. This role is critical to maintaining equipment reliability and supporting efficient production operations.
Key Responsibilities
-
Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
-
Install and service AC/DC circuits (24VDC, 120/208/480VAC)
-
Perform PLC programming, troubleshooting, and networking
-
Install and troubleshoot AC drives and HMI systems
-
Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs
-
Plan and prioritize work to minimize downtime
-
Rebuild and repair mechanical and electrical components
-
Collaborate with Engineering on equipment improvements and modifications
-
Test, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation
-
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
-
Support continuous improvement and communicate effectively with team members
What We’re Looking For
One of the following:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field + 3+ years of experience
OR
-
7+ years of industrial electrical experience with PLC expertise
Core Skills & Experience:
-
Strong troubleshooting across electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
-
Experience with industrial AC/DC circuits and equipment
-
PLC training (advanced functions and communications preferred)
-
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
-
Experience with precision measuring tools and tolerances
-
Proficiency with computers and maintenance systems
-
Ability to use hand, power, and machine tools (drills, lathes, mills, etc.)
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Must supply own trade tools
